1. What this covers

How The Soft Era (“we”) collects and uses information when you visit thesoftera.org, take the quiz, subscribe, or buy a product.

2. What we collect

• Your email address and name, when you subscribe or buy.
• Your quiz answers, when you take the quiz.
• Order details, when you buy. Card details go to our payment processor and never reach us.
• Basic, aggregated site statistics (pages visited, referring site, device type).

3. How we use it

To deliver what you bought or signed up for, send the weekly essay, answer your emails, and understand which pages are read. We do not sell, rent or trade your information.

4. Who processes it for us

• Lemon Squeezy — checkout, payment, tax and order emails (merchant of record).
• Substack — the newsletter and the Journal.
• Typeform — the quiz.
• Cloudflare — site hosting and cookieless site statistics.

Each processes your information under its own privacy policy, only to provide its service.

5. Email

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Order confirmations and download emails are part of your purchase.

6. Cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies. The services embedded in it (the quiz and the subscribe form) may set their own.

7. Keeping and protecting it

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, and use reasonable measures to protect it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to its use. Write to hello@thesoftera.org.

9. Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
